We have incredible news! Extremely generous donors, who want to remain anonymous, have made The Acorn a $50,000 Matching Grant Challenge. They told us the morning of our big annual Fundraiser in March and generously offered to match all of the funds raised from the silent auction and every donation made to The Acorn through the end of April. Our silent auction smashed all previous records and raised almost $39,000, so we now need to raise a little over $11,000 before April 30th to take full advantage of the Challenge.
This is the first time in the twenty-eight year history of The Acorn that we have received a Matching Grant Challenge and this one at $50,000 is extremely generous. So if any of you alumni families or your companies are in a position to help The Acorn, this is a unique opportunity and would be a great time to make a donation. We are excited by the prospect that if we receive $11,000 in donations during April, that will mean $22,000 more for the school.
Thanks so much for considering making us a donation before April 30th to help us take advantage of these last $11,000 matching dollars.

On Monday, May 14th, 2007, The McNay Art Museum honored our teacher, Sudie Holshouser, as one of their two Teachers of the Year. She was chosen as a teacher whose students were interested, attentive and informed about the artists studied throughout the year. She uses innovative, hands-on experiences to expose our Kindergarten and Five Year Old Classes to various artists, their media and styles. Congratulations, and thanks, Sudie!
